Security guards are always made out to be the bad guys. They are the ones that ruin your night of fun. Right?…. Wrong.
Tonight was an intense show. Hardcore legends, Terror, were second to take the stage and the crowd went absolutely nuts. A hardcore pit is something that can not be put into words. There are people flailing, punching, kicking, flipping, just all around going crazy. It’s a dangerous place to be if you don’t know what you’re doing. I’ve seen broken bones, I’ve broken my own bones. I know that doesn’t sound like fun at all but it’s a rush to be in the middle of that.
Usually when a pit like this breaks out, security is right around the edges throwing people out that they feel are being “dangerous”. I’ll be the first one to say, there is NOTHING safe about a hardcore pit… so what are you going to do? Throw everyone out?! The whole hardcore lifestyle is about family. About taking care of those around you and taking care of yourself. That doesn’t change in a pit
Security tonight did it right. There were no security guards around the pit. Only one guy on each side of the venue trying to keep an eye out for people who were hurt. They let kids kick, punch, and flip without stopping them. Security knew that people were taken care of by the other people in the pit. There was one kid that got his nose kicked and there was blood everywhere. That is the only time security hopped down into the pit. It wasn’t to punish the kid who kicked him, it was to get this kid out of the pit and clean him up. Within five minutes, that same kid was back in the pit with his nose all taped up.
That’s how security is supposed to act… help those who need help but let everyone else do their thing.
Overall, the show tonight was amazing. It went from a softer band to a hardcore band to a old school pop punk band to a new school pop punk band. That is the kind of show I live for. I don’t want to hear the same thing for five hours straight. The crowd was moving the entire night and everyone had a smile on their face. It didn’t matter what band you were there to see, everyone seemed to enjoy every minute of the night.
My final thought for the night: The singer of Terror said something that really stuck out to me. This world is a terrible, terrible messed up place… real music with real lyrics is all we got.

I’m definitely not a rock concert type (more of a Taylor Swift fan in all honesty) but your writing is intriguing and very lovely to read! I’m excited to read more from you, and maybe even expand my taste in music!
