Girl at the Rock Shows

As you may have seen or caught onto, I am not typically one for a cover song. Don’t get me wrong, I like to jam out to a good cover every once in awhile and I am a huge fan of those Punk Goes Pop albums from back in the day but, when it comes to sharing covers out, I just feel like it’s not fair to the bands out there putting their hearts and souls into original music. All that being said, here I am, sharing out a cover of Gorillaz’s “FEEL GOOD INC” done by After Smoke Clears.

Why is this the cover that seems to buck my rules? Well, just listen to it. This London-based band has definitely put an original spin on this “feel good” classic which is why it stood out so strongly to me. The metal spin they put on this very non-metal track is absolutely flawless and shows so much dang creativity that it was hard to even keep in mind that this was a cover as it played through. Although the composition of this song is almost a play-by-play of the original, there were moments where it was almost unrecognizable. Honestly, there were only bits and pieces of this song where I was able to really hear the original. Again, this is all part of the magic and all part of the reason that I am here preaching this track to you. So, whether you like the original or not, I highly suggest you check out After Smoke Clears’ cover of “FEEL GOOD INC” from Gorillaz.
