I’m honestly still recovering from the Shania Twain show I was at last night. It was an absolutely spectacular show and it has me feeling rejuvenated and ready to take on the world but it also has me feeling a bit overwhelmed. I have so much ambition and drive to get stuff done today that I can feel myself spiraling into a bit of a manic state so I need something to bring me back to the ground a bit. Thankfully, my first single to share with you today did just the trick.
“Haze” from Sonoa is a dazzling song with a very lush atmospheric indie-pop sound to it. Bridging the gap between chill-core and alt rock with a bit of a pop-punk influence felt most heavily with the breakdown that happens towards the end, all of the styles that Sonoa fits into this one song work so flawlessly together. I really can’t get over the lushness of this track. It’s something that hits you right away as the song starts playing and echoes through your bones and soul even after the song has ended. This song not only brought me back to the ground mentally but also gave me a sense of power to continue on with my day. My only complaint about “Haze” is the way it stops so suddenly but, at the same time, that’s kind of a brilliant move on Sonoa’s part as it made me desperate to hear more from them.
