“Wobblies” from Peer Gynt is one of those tracks that came with no context. I don’t have any background on who Peer Gynt is or anything about this track other than the fact that it’s a solo project and that “Wobblies” is off of a demo. Typically, this isn’t enough for me to make a whole post out of but, with a song like this, I just couldn’t help but share it with you.

Although Peer Gynt claims this is off a demo, there’s something perfectly polished about “Wobblies”. Okay, maybe “polished” isn’t quite the right word as there’s a “rough around the edges” kind of vibe to this track but it works so perfectly. Stylistically, this song bridges the gap between grunge and skate punk in a perfect way. The lyrics are more barked than sung which I know won’t be for everyone but, again, fit perfectly. The raw recording style of this song is only matched by the raw energy that comes through with every note and every beat. I wish I had more to say here but I truly don’t. “Wobblies” from Peer Gynt is just one of those songs that is great but doesn’t need to have a lot of words behind it to explain why it’s great so just check it out for yourself.
