Sometimes you need a little reminder to “do the thing you’ve been thinking of doing!”. Cuties’ new song “Fractured” is about saying yes to life and not giving into the sense of miserable doom that you may be surrounded by. It’s a love letter to the positive things in life and, on a gloomy and stressed out Thursday, just what I needed.

“Fractured” is absolutely a pop-punk jam and a well done one at that. There’s a clear Blink 182 influence that can be heard throughout this quick bop but, honestly, that’s not what hooked me. What hooked me is this slight darkness behind this track. There’s a twinkle of stars in the instrumentation that adds a sense of brightness at the same as this dark and brooding sound pushes the song forward. All of these things should not work together but Cuties have found a way to make all of these elements into a cohesive song that will surely take your breath away. So, what are you waiting for? Check out “Fractured” and let’s remember that it’s okay to love life.
