Happy Wednesday, everyone! I hope your week is going well! Whether it’s going super amazingly or if you need a little boost, “Out of Sight” from Casual Drag is absolutely worth your attention today.
The Scottish trio has a very distinct and unique sound that will absolutely hook you. “Out of Sight” is a single off the band’s debut release and, although I haven’t heard the other tracks yet, I think it’s safe to say that if you like this, you’ll love the album. “Out of Sight” has this perfect balance between surf punk and garage rock. There’s a slight fuzzy giving it that more vintage vibe to it and an undeniable sense of attitude in the vocals but there are also breaks throughout the track that bring something a bit more sinister and aggressive. I don’t want to quite relate this band to IDLES but, honestly, the overall feel of this amazing single reminds me of IDLES. Casual Drag started in 2020 and, as we all know, that made for a rough start for any bands but I am so glad to see that Casual Drag made it out of the pandemic still in tact and can’t wait to see this trio take over the world one song at a time.
