Girl at the Rock Shows

I know that The Menzingers are a band that does not need press from me. They are a huge group with a reach that spans the entire globe and, in some circles, are one of the biggest bands out there so why am I sharing their new song “Second City” with you? Honestly, because it’s just too good to ignore.

“Second City” is a song that The Menzingers did for Red Scare Records and to celebrate twenty years of punk rock and that’s exactly what this song is– a celebration. In typical The Menzingers fashion, this punk leaning pop-punk jam is infectious and full of words that cut straight to your heart. Although this song is about Chicago, I feel like the lyrics can relate to whatever city you call home. It also addresses those days where nothing feels quite right and when you “only wanna party with you”. You know the feeling. Long story short, The Menzingers are one of my favorite bands and this song, “Second City” is an example as to why.
