I’m obsessed with the ocean. Many people don’t know this about me and it’s definitely not obvious what with me living in no-coast Minnesota but I truly love the ocean and always long to hear the waves crashing and to feel the sea salt spray whip at my face. I honestly don’t know how else to describe it but I feel that being next to the ocean and in it is one of the only places and times where I truly feel settled and content. I don’t know what it is but it’s something about that “Deep Blue Something” and I feel like, although not in the same way, I found almost as much solace and peace in listening to Deep Blue Something’s new track “Saint Morrissey”.

Does the band name Deep Blue Something ring a bell? It should because they are the band behind the hit single “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” from the 90s but don’t let that give you any pre-conceived opinions about their new song “Saint Morrissey”. Although there is definitely a sound that rewinds back to the 90s within this track, there’s something fresh and modern about it making Deep Blue Something feel a bit like a brand new band. This song is catchy but not in the traditional sense. There is thought and creativity that comes through with every beat throughout the four minutes and twelve seconds that this song lasts. There’s also an almost overly emotional rawness that comes through in the vocals. That being said, overall, I found “Saint Morrissey” it be an uplifting track that instantly got stuck in my head.

Like what you hear in this song? “Saint Morrissey” is the opening track off of Deep Blue Something’s upcoming album ‘Lunar Phase’ which will be out in April of 2025!
