There’s a snow storm coming up here in Minneapolis. Okay, maybe it won’t be a storm but it’s sounding like we should get a couple inches of snow tomorrow and I truly can not wait. I absolutely love the snow and always feel just slightly more cozy and motivated because of it. Although it’s not here yet, I’m trying to channel that attitude right now by putting my head down and getting a crap ton done. It’s working but I need a little break and a little treat in the form of a new song so let’s check out “Victoria” from Fire Roots.
“Victoria” is “an ode to the life-changing moment a man finds out he’s going to become a father and the ensuing wave of emotions that comes with it.” Although this isn’t a particular thing I can relate to 100%, I absolutely relate to the power in this song and the emotion that comes with it. There’s something almost frantic about the mood of this track but also something resilient. It’s a bit of that attitude where everything is going wrong but you have no choice but to suck it up and keep forging ahead. The franticness quickly changes to a slight sense of desperation before you get to the end of this three minute track where I finally feel a sense of calm (yet still power) cast over the track. Fire Roots has put a lot of emotion and thought into this song and it translates perfectly into a stunning piece of art.
