Happy Wednesday, everyone. It’s finally starting to thaw out up here in Minneapolis ever so slightly. We even hit double digits today. Although they are saying the temperature is going to fall yet again, I’m going to take this time to appreciate the heat wave and celebrate by kicking today off with a super amazing song.

“Apple at the Aggy” from Cape Crush featuring Good June is pure nostalgia, and it’s perfect. Kicking off with whimsical but powerful gang vocals, I instantly fell head over heels for the back and forth between the two vocals that share the spotlight in this track. Although the song is definitely early 2000’s emo-inspired, there’s something a bit brighter about it bringing it into modern day so perfectly. The catchiness of the riffs and gang vocals in this song are the kind of things that get stuck in your head instantly and you will surely be humming the hook of this track for the foreseeable future. I don’t apologize about this and think that, instead of being annoyed that you now have an insanely infectious earworm stuck in your head, you should appreciate it because, in this day and age, an upbeat and playful earworm is the best distraction ever. “Apple at the Aggy” is Cape Crush’s first single since 2023 and, if it’s any indication as to what’s to come for this band, I truly can not wait to follow this group into 2025.
