Girl at the Rock Shows

I typically share out brand spankin’ new music for you guys but, every once in awhile, I come across a gem from the past that I feel like deserves a spike in listens. That’s the case with Awful Din’s “Five Story” which came out a year ago.

I love the nostalgia that comes attached to this track. There’s this sense of simplicity behind the track that instantly put my back in my childhood bedroom surrounded by cutouts from Alternative Press magazine but this song also gave me a second to reflect on how I’ve come so far from that moment. “Five Story” is somehow an emotional song for me with the feelings that it brings out of my soul but, at the same time, it’s absolutely a pure bop that will surely have you wanting to bounce around your current space in no time.

Awful Din are heading on a tour down to Fest this fall. From what I can tell, they haven’t announced dates yet but my fingers are crossed that Minneapolis is on that list! In the meantime, I’ll just listen to this song and all of their other amazing tracks on repeat. Join me?
