Girl at the Rock Shows

I finally have all of my weekly check-ins out to my booking clients. It took awhile to get it done and I’m feeling a bit drained but, it’s done and that means I finally have some time to check out some new music so let’s just get into it!

I have a really hard time with accepting things that are out of my control. That made “Voidwalker” hit me like a truck. As the band says, “The idea for this song came about from some advice my therapist once gave me, which was to ‘be one with the void’ as a way of saying embrace the nothingness, learn to accept that things are out of your control.” This sentiment can be felt throughout this song from Blessings of Mara. There’s this slight sense of tension throughout the nearly four-minute long song but there’s also a sense of peace and calm that seems to come in and sweep over everything else a couple of times through the track. “Voidwalker” is powerful and intense but if you, like me, can find a sense of calm and comfort in the face of intensity, this song will come over you like a warm and cozy blanket in all of the right ways which, after the morning rush, was just what I needed today.
