I’ll be honest. My day went from smooth sailing to full blown panic attack and stress in the matter of seconds. I’m not sure what trigged me but I am trying my best to calm down and I think a new track may be the cure I need right now.
The warmth yet boppiness of the vocals that kick off “Knuckle Down” from Divorce Culture was just what my soul needed. This band has such a perfect blend of everything from pop-punk to alt-rock with even a little emo influence spotted here and there and some riffs that have an almost metal vibe to this. All of these sounds come together flawlessly to create the catchy little number that is “Knuckle Down”. The contrast, rises and falls throughout this track are dynamic to say the least which is just what my heart was looking for. Although only two minutes long, I felt myself going through emotion after emotion as this song played as if the song was giving me a puzzle with some pieces missing and it was up to me to fill the missing pieces with the emotions that have been bottling up this morning. Okay, this is all very deep, I know and maybe, to you, “Knuckle Down” from Divorce Culture will be just a solid song without this super emotional connection behind it like I’ve found but, regardless, it will be a solid song that will surely get stuck in your head and leave you wanting more from Divorce Culture.
