I hope you all had an amazing weekend. I know I did but I also know that I let work fall to the wayside while I tried to keep up with a social calendar. That’s all fine and dandy but it’s leading to an already stressful Monday which means it’s time to take a break and a breather with a new song. First up today is “Art of Detachment” from Ex Monarch.

There a slight ambiance to this song that instantly hooked me in. It brought a sense of peace and calm over my otherwise restless being for the day making it such a great fit for me at this very moment. This song is about loving someone but know that you have to let them go. That sentiment and feeling is one that we all know to be heavy and the way that Ex Monarch carries that weight while bringing a sense of pure beauty to this track is straight-up lovely. Overall, this song is a very powerful alt-rock track but, as mentioned, there’s this slight ambiance to it that leans into a bit of a moody shoegaze vibe. This song will stop you from doing whatever you are doing. The vocals are demanding in all of the right ways and, although the instrumentation lets those strong vocals guide the track, this song would be nothing without the intricacies that the instruments bring to the table.
