Every time my day starts looking up, I take a punch to the gut. It’s okay, it’s just one of those days and I know I’ll get through it but remaining positive on a day like today is rough at best. All I can think of to do right now is take yet another break and re-set my mind and soul with a new song. Thankfully for me, “Rise & Hall” from Delta Wave seems to be hitting the spot.
If you’re a fan of bands like Saves the Day and other like-minded late 90s emo pop-punk bands, you will instantly fall in love with this song from Delta Wave. The second song from the group’s first full-length album, “Rise & Fall” comes with, well, rises and falls. It’s less than two minutes long but what this band does with that limited time is genius and I love the fact that they are able to lay out an entire story with a sense of depth and passion in such a short time. I wish I had more to say about this song but, the truth is, it’s short so I just don’t know what else to tell you. What I do know is I can not wait to hear more from Delta Wave sooner rather than later.
