My journey of upbeat and fun music continues on this beautiful Wednesday. Okay, beautiful is a strong word but I’m having a pretty good day and hope you are too. Just in case you’re struggling, “Double Tap” from Soapbox Deluxe is here to put a smile on your face and a pep in your step.
“Double Tap” is a classic pop-punk bop. The electronic sounds in the background of this song instantly reminded me of bands like Motion City Soundtrack and Breathe Carolina (before they got a wee bit weird). It’s an upbeat jam with slightly cliche yet oh-so-perfect lyrics. This song is one of those tracks that really doesn’t need much background which is a good thing as the band gave me nothing to go off of. You just need to turn your volume up, press play, and let Soapbox Deluxe transport you to a time when things were a bit more simple and fun.
