Girl at the Rock Shows

“Sola En Un Sillón” translates to something close to “Alone In An Armchair”. Although I’m at work, I am, in fact, alone in a chair with arms so I figure this is a perfectly fitting song for right now (and a good excuse to take a break from the grind that today has become).

I’m going to see Blink 182 tonight (which I am stoked for) and that’s exactly what the opening riff of this song reminds me off. Really, this song in general has a huge and clear Blink 182 influence throughout it. It’s not as polished but that adds to the gritty punk rock charm of “Sola En Un Sillón” and Niñas Niño in general. Niñas Niño is not a new act as they have been doing their thing for twelve years but this is the first I am hearing of this truly amazing and charming band from Chile. That being said, it won’t be the last. After falling head over heels for “Sola En Un Sillón”, I think the rest of my day will be spent with anything and everything else this band has out there.
