I’m not sure why but I’m feeling angsty. It’s not a bad day and I am super stupid stoked for the show I have tonight yet I can feel this odd sense of aggression bottling up in me. I assume it’s stress and exhaustion but, right now, there’s nothing I can do about either of those things other than take a break to check out some new music and hope that that new music helps release some of this pent up angst. Thankfully for me, “Pull The Ladder Up” from Priced Out is doing just the trick.

This song was written out of anger and frustration. There are some more specifics to that but, for me, that’s all I needed to know and feel to fall head over heels in love with this track. It’s intense, even dangerous and threatening at times but it never bridges into the world of chaos. It has a very post-punk feeling to it that reminds me a bit of IDLES but it feels just a bit grittier than that. Just slightly dirtier. Even with the DIY punk ethos that radiate from this song, you get a stunning amount of emotion throughout this two minute and eighteen second song. Looking for a song to pump your fist to? Wanting to just sit at your desk with those middle fingers raised for a couple of minutes (I know it sounds weird, but have you ever tried it)? “Pull The Ladder Up” from Priced Out is the track for you.
