It feels like it’s been about “7 Years” since I’ve had a chance to share out some new music to you. Okay, that’s not quite true but it was a wild and wacky couple of days with an impromptu trip in there, a visit from some out of town friends, and many shows. Long story short, I owe you a bunch of new music today. I’m not sure how much time I’ll have to devote to singles but let’s start the day off right with “7 Years” from Suburban Samurai.
I’m not feeling super lonely these days as I have the best group of friends and a pretty stellar team at my day job but we all have those feelings of immense loneliness which is what “7 Years” is about. This is a fast-paced song with a perfect pop-punk leaning punk influence that will instantly have you hooked. Because it’s so quick-paced, this three minute song feels like it’s over in the blink of an eye which is the only negative thing I can say in regards to “7 Years”. Honestly, it just made me want to hear so much more from this Vermont-based band. If you like the energy of Goldfinger and the angst of Four Year Strong, “7 Years” and Suburban Samurai in general is for you.
