Where is the time going? I feel like I’m feeling like time is slipping away more and more every day. Some days it’s a good things, some days, it’s not and then there are days like today where I’m both loving the fact that I’m already almost done with my day job but am feeling like I just have not gotten enough done yet. Regardless of how your Monday is going, I think it’s safe to assume we can all use a break right about now so let’s take that break and fit it with some new music.
“last call” from poor sport is pop-punk-perfection at it’s finest. I mean, right off the bat, this song is about a relationship that, at some point, you realize it’s not for you and it’s time to say goodbye. I mean, try and tell me that isn’t pop-punk at it’s core?! On top of that, poor sport’s sound comes with an undeniable sense of power that is contrasting by twinkly guitars and vocals that tug at your heartstrings. I love how this song balances between nostalgic acts like Blink 182 but also carries the torch that bands like Tiny Moving Parts are holding these days. “last call” has it all from emotion to grit to power to solace and it’s the perfect listening break for your Monday.
