Girl at the Rock Shows

It was a busy music weekend up here in Minneapolis. Now that it’s Monday, I feel like I’m finally able to catch my breath a little bit but know I will be taking another plunge starting tonight as I dive head first into another stellar and lengthy run of shows. I need to make the most of the daytime hours as I know my nights will be lost to the magic of live music so I need music to help keep my focus and, although heavy, “Another Parasite” from vya is doing just that.

The intensity of this track is fairly subtle but that’s what makes it such a stand-out kind of song. There’s something soothing about the vocals throughout this song but there is so much energy behind each word that they command your ears to listen in a powerful way. Add that subtle intensity of the instrumentation and you are left with a track that will take you away from whatever troubles are currently plaguing you and put you in a world where all that matters are emotions and vya. The balance of beauty and power is in the spotlight throughout this three and a half minute song. It’s such a beautiful balance that it has me wanting to ignore everything else I need to do on this Monday morning and just dig deeper into vya’s catalog so excuse me while I do just that.
