Honestly, Origami Angel is one of those bands that doesn’t need my help. They don’t need press from me as I feel like they are already quickly becoming a household name but, with that being said, their new single “Dirty Mirror Selfie” is just too good to not share with you all. Whether you know this band or don’t, you absolutely need to take a listen to this song.
“Dirty Mirror Selfie” is fast and furious but, at the same time, hits you with a sense of comfort that only Origami Angel can give you. After the intense intro, Origami Angel’s signature smooth vocals come in and make this track a power-pop bop that is ridiculously infectious and fun. The genius of this band comes in the way they hit you with these two stark differences and then seem to spend the rest of this three and a half minute song blending them together in such a fun way. Even when the guitars feel super intense and almost abrasive, the drums keep the boppiness alive. Washington, D.C.-based Origami Angel are on their third full-length album so, if you like what you hear here, do not hesitate to jump into all of their other material out there. I promise it’s worth the trip!
