Forever On High x We The Kings – “Brand New Low”

Although I was never a huge We The Kings fans back in the day, as I’ve said multiple times, I’m just a pop-punk princess when it comes down to it so, of course I was intrigued when I saw this classic pop-punk band’s name come across my desk. It also instantly gave Forever On High, a band I knew nothing about, a few bonus points before I even heard the track. Sure, that may not be fair but, just a few seconds into this track and I knew that I had just hit pop-punk gold and that Forever On High was more than worthy of those bonus points and then some.

I honestly don’t know what else to say about this track other than continuing to find different ways of saying “pop-punk gold”. From the bounciness of the music to the quirkiness of the video, this song absolutely took me back to a time when things were a bit simpler but, at the same time, made me so excited for the future of this genre that I “call home”. I feel like a lot of pop-punk bands these days try to over complicate it by adding mathy guitar riffs and slightly hardcore-inspired breakdowns but Forever On High, with the help of We The Kings, have brought it back to the basics with “Brand New Low”. For those of you who “Checked Yes (on) Juliet” back in 2007, it’s time to “Check Yes” on Forever On High and “Brand New Low”.
