Girl at the Rock Shows

Adulting is dumb. There. I said it and I’m not taking it back. I also have a feeling that none of you will really fight me on that opinion. That being said, you absolutely have to give this band, of the same name a chance.

I love the way that Adulting doesn’t hold back and instantly hits you with their signature blend of raw and emo vibes before you get to hear the magic of this band unfold. Although I would absolutely call them an emo leaning pop-punk band, their sound is a more larger-than-life than that description may lead you to believe. The soundscape they create in their song “Dumbfounded” is huge and so easy to get lost in but also sent me down a hallway of nostalgia thinking back to bands like Hot Rod Circuit and The Promise Ring. There’s a little Matt Pryor influence to the way the vocals hit in this track which is just the icing on the cake. I honestly do not have much information on Adulting other than that they have been around since 2016 and hail from Maine but I can tell you that this band has my attention and I hope they make the trek to the Midwest so I can feel everything they have put into this song in real life.
