Girl at the Rock Shows

Now is usually the time in the day where I hit this giant afternoon slump. It’s when I find it hard to keep my eyes open and my head is only on the epic nap I’m going to take post-day job and pre-concert. Something is different today. I’m not tired yet. Knock on wood but maybe I won’t be getting that afternoon slump today? I would call that lucky but if you’re struggling to get through this Monday or just need some new music, have I got the song for you!

“Out The Door” from Congress The Band is not my typical slice of angsty nostalgia. Instead, it’s a perfectly crafted indie rock meets bluesy rock meets soul meets folk song that will instantly take you away from the idea that today is, in fact, a Monday. I love the smoothness that comes through in this track in both the vocals and instrumentation alike but what really hooked me is the energy here. I love how this song seemed to bring a sense of comfort to my heart while giving me this sense of warmth and coziness that is helping me get through the day. You can either get lost in the instrumentation of this song or get lost in the lyrics, either way, Congress The Band will have you completely lost for about five minutes as you play “Out The Door” and it’s truly perfect.
