My music ADD is already off the charts today. It’s only 9:30 AM but I’ve already been through a Chappell Roan phase, a Ramones phase, and even dabbled in a bit of Childish Gambino. I can tell it’s just one of those days where everything sounds good but only for a second which means you should probably buckle up for a day of bi-polar singles that absolutely deserve your attention. One of these singles is “Over It” from Michael Barrow & The Tourists.
Let me go ahead and state the obvious– “Over It” is much poppier than I tend to share about but this song is so dang infectious I just could not move on with my day before I shared it with all of you. Think The Killers meets a slightly young James Bay, “Over It” comes with a ridiculously infectious chorus and hooks that will make your heart swoon. Blurring the lines between indie, rock, and a slight Americana soul, Michael Barrow & The Tourists has a super powerful sound but it’s also one that will wrap around you like your favorite blanket. Michael Barrow & The Tourists are from Provo, Utah but this quintet has been touring a lot and I only hope that the release of their upcoming third album ‘Happy’ leads to a Minneapolis date.
