Happy Monday, everyone! I hope you all had a good weekend. I know I did. It was full of amazing music and live performances that have me so excited to continue checking out new music so let’s just jump into it by starting the week off with “It’s Worth The Wrist” from Midwest Goodbye.
“It’s Worth The Wrist” is the third single I’ve shared out from Midwest Goodbye and it may be my favorite thus far. It’s hard to believe that this act is a solo project due to the sheer power that comes through in this two and a half minute long song. What I particularly love about Midwest Goodbye is the vocals and lyrics. They cut to the core both with the word choice and presentation. The presentation is what is put in the spotlight in this song. The vocals are raw and highly emotive to the point where, at times in this song, you can almost hear vocalist Jake breakdown as he is singing the words. A little emo, a little pop-punk, a little post-hardcore and a whole lot of heart, this song will surely kick your week off with a sense of angsty power and endless energy– perfect for a sleepy Monday morning.
