Girl at the Rock Shows

It’s one of those days where I’m getting so much done and know that’s a good thing but I seem to be obsessing over the time. It’s already just after 10AM and, although I’ve gotten a lot done, I have so much more to do. This has lead to the resurgence of my teeth grinding habit. I’m not happy about it and can feel the pain in my jaw right now but that’s where I’m at with the day. I need to take a breather and just chill so, as you know, that means it’s time to jump into another new track.

“From The Wayside” is the title track from prom’s debut LP and it will absolutely catch your ears and your heart. This powerful, three minute song is a vibe through and through. The power comes through both with the emotion throughout the track and the sonic and literal power from the instrumentation. “From The Wayside” starts off slow and deliberate with a slight Brand New influence shining through but, before long, the song crescendos into this beautifully overwhelming wall of sound. There’s a slight 90s grunge influence in this track that took me a second to catch onto but, once I caught it, it was one of the many unique elements of prom that I could not shake. ‘From The Wayside’ will be out via Sugar-Free Records on November 8th so, if you like what you hear with this title track, make sure to set a reminder to come back and check out the full album.
