I’ve fallen more behind on my email than usual. I’m not sure what’s going on but I’ve been busier than ever lately and it’s starting to get to my head. I need a moment to just breathe and reset which means I need a new song to dive into.
“Black Hole” is the first single off of Goalkeeper’s EP ‘Pins and Needles’ and it had me hooked instantly. The song starts with powerful hardcore feeling guitars before you get into Goalkeeper’s distinct heavy pop-punk sound. Although I say heavy and there is a clear hardcore influence throughout this track, “Black Hole” is a pop-punk-perfect kind of song with swirling guitars, slamming drums, and heartfelt vocals. Honestly, this song hit me particularly hard because of the lyrics. It’s a song about the anxiety we feel when we lose control of everything and feel as if we are falling into a “Black Hole”. Like I said, it’s hitting me hard and oh so perfectly. I love how I felt heard and seen by Goalkeeper with this song and how it also acted as a sort of comfort blanket to help me keep going today.
