Whether or not I want it to, today keeps trucking along and I am doing everything in my power to not have a complete mental breakdown at my desk. I’m not sure what it is but I’m just kind of over the day but, with a pile of stuff to still get done, I can’t just give up. I am still pushing through and still on the hunt for new songs to help me do so. Thankfully for me, “Astro do-si-do” from Sonic Scene Kids is the next song I have on the docket to share with you.
The first thing that hit me about this song was the energy and that was exactly what I needed to help me continue on with my day. Between that and the bright pink album art that comes with the song, I could feel a smile stretch across my face for the first time in hours as this nearly four-minute long song took over my office. This is a fun and pop-punk-perfect kind of jam. I love how, not only is this song a high energy kind of track, you can hear various influences come through throughout this track that give this song and Sonic Scene Kids’ sound a very distinct and unique vibe. Add an almost raw feeling to the overall recording and you are left with an ear-catching track that will surely leave you wanting more from this band.
