I hope everyone had a fantastic weekend! I know I did! It was full of some amazing music, great friends, and even some down time (which was super nice). Now it’s Monday on what is sure to be a bizarre week with the election and what not but I’m doing my best to not get in my head about things. Instead of dwelling on what might happen this week, let’s dig into some amazing new music to help us all get through the week starting with “Ballroom” from Victor Jones.

As the band puts it, this is a “barn burner of a tune” and I honestly can’t agree more. Although it starts off a big slow, “Ballroom” quickly turned into a complete bop of a track that will fill you with such a perfect sense of energy and slight rage (in a good way, of course). The fourth and final release from Victor Jones for this year, “Ballroom” shows this group’s unique blend of genres. First and foremost, this is a rock song but I love the underlying industrial tones mixed with an almost intense grime influence that comes through here and there. “Ballroom” is one of those songs that begs to be seen live. I feel like, in a live setting, this song would just hit particularly hard. That’s not to say that it doesn’t hit hard when you’re listening to it on a Monday morning (because it does) but more that it will get you so anxious for a chance to check this band live sooner rather than later.
