It’s Monday. It definitely feels like a Monday. I’ve been swamped all morning and have yet to even dive into my email account. Normally, this would have me set off and completely beyond stressed out but this Monday is a little bit different, a little bit better, and that’s all thanks to Tabloid Nation and their new song “I’ll Make It Up To You” and a brilliant brand new video to match.
There’s such a sense of swagger throughout “I’ll Make It Up To You” but there’s also this undeniable sense of tenderness that will surely get you hooked. A little grunge, a little pop, and a whole lot of heart, “I’ll Make It Up To You” is one of those tracks that is so relatable for everyone. We’ve all been in that spot where all you want to do is “make it up” to that person. When we admit our wrongs, look back on our mistakes, and hope that forgiveness is in the cards. We all know that’s not always how it goes and that’s what this song seems to address. I know, it sounds dark, I get it, but, really, this song is a song of optimism that comes complete with an ridiculously catchy chorus and sense of redemption that is just absolutely perfect to get your week started off with.
Beyond the song is the video. Honestly, the video matches the vibe of this track so perfectly. Telling the tale of mistakes made in a relationship and the hope that your partner (or ex-partner) will someday forgive you. That doesn’t always happen but I love how this video goes on to tell the story how, at the end of the day, all that matters is your forgive yourself, and that the other person in the situation is happy. Long story short, don’t be a dick. Live and learn, forgive and grow, be more like the human in the story that Tabloid Nation is telling in this brilliant song and video.
Right now, “I’ll Make It Up To You” is a standalone single but I have a feeling that after just one listen to this song and one watch of this video that matches the vibe so perfectly, you will want so much more from Tabloid Nation. Tabloid Nation’s other song “Mr. President” is already out there and ready for your listening pleasure so take some time with that, show this band some love, and brace yourselves for a super explosive and bright future from this new act!
