Okay, don’t freak out. I didn’t learn Japanese over night or anything like that and I honestly had to copy paste those characters to get the title into this blog but none of that matters. All that matters is you spend some time with this absolutely stellar and unique track from 或陽 (ARUHI) !
This song is literally four and a half minutes of intense composition that makes absolutely zero sense and that’s what makes it so perfect. Naturally, as a pianist, I was instantly hooked by the dazzling and chaotic piano riffs but, as the song moved on, I realized there is so much more to get hooked by in this song. The vocals had an almost pop quality to them that feels a bit more mainstream than anything else but the chaos happening in the background is far from mainstream. Not only is this song a perfect example of controlled chaos, it’s also a great showing of rapidly changing song structures and how everything can change in a song in just the blink of an eye. This track is like the weather here in Minnesota. If you don’t like a certain moment, just hang on a minute because it will be changing in no time. The attention to details in this song is jaw dropping. The talent showcased in this song is jaw dropping. Everything about this song, and this band, is jaw dropping.
