Girl at the Rock Shows

Although my Wednesday is off to a good start (and I hope yours is too!), I’m feeling a bit angsty. I’m just a bit stressed out and, although I’m still doing a good job of not letting it get to me, it’s starting to bring me down a wee bit. Have no fear though– the first song of today is a solidly angsty and perfectly aggressive track that is helping me get back on track.

“Tailwind” from BackTalk is the second single off of the band’s upcoming album. This song is a true explosion of intensity, aggression, and power but there’s also something playful about it. Part of that playfulness absolutely comes from the video that is shot in an arcade. The bright lights and funny little snippets of an inside look into the personalities of the members behind BackTalk feel innocent and almost juvenile but it’s cute and I feel like it adds depth this to this track. Another part of the playfulness that I’m getting from “Tailwind” is the way that BackTalk plays with everything from tempos to dynamics in this song. It’s a true rollercoaster ride of a song that keeps you on the edge of your seat for all three minutes and fourteen seconds that it lasts. Come for the aggression and angst, stay for the smiles and fun, “Tailwind” from BackTalk is what you need this morning. Trust me.
