Girl at the Rock Shows

I hope you all had a fantastic Torfurkey day. I definitely did. It was super chill and non-stressful which was wild but oh so perfect. It was also nice to take a couple of days off. I honestly don’t remember the last time I went two days without touching my computer and, although I’m paying the price for it now as I try to caught back up, I can’t help but be thankful that I took a much needed break as I feel like my head is back in the game and I’m ready to get back to the grind. With the grind comes the task of sharing new music with you. I know it’s the weekend and I don’t typically share out a bunch of songs over the weekend but I feel like I’m desperate for some new music so let’s just jump into it.

“jaded” by NAKEDBURN and featuring Liam Cormier is a brand new single from this Canadian band’s forthcoming EP titled ‘Drowning’. This song is dark and oh so very energetic. It seems to bridge the gap between a nostalgic emo sound and something a bit more reminiscent of hard rock and almost metalcore tendencies. It all comes together to make this explosive single really catch you and make you feel so many things while also giving you an outlet for any pent up aggression which, after a couple of days without shows and a weekend where my boyfriend has his kids at our house, is just what I needed. There’s a reason that NAKEDBURN is quickly becoming one of Canada’s top bands to watch for 2025 and this song tells me that it’s not just going to be Canada that has their eyes on this band. NAKEDBURN is a powerhouse of a group and I can’t wait to see them explode, much like “jaded” does, this coming year.
