It’s the day before Thanksgiving which is making it hard to concentrate on work. I’m already mostly caught up on emails and even spent some time in the warehouse of my day job packing orders just to make the time go by. It’s not working and time seems to be at a crawl. At first, this had me bummed out because I am so ready to go home and kick my feet up for at least a day or two but, now I’m trying to be optimistic about it. I may be kind of caught up on emails but I am so far behind on everything else so let’s help today move along by checking out some new music. Who knows? Maybe you’ll find the perfect soundtrack for your Tofurkey day festivities!
Getting the day started off right is “Delay” from Rec Hall. The first thing that made me fall in love with this song is the almost otherworldly undertones throughout the track. They are subtle but I feel like they add such a sense of depth and a layer of atmospheric pleasure to this track that really gives it that icing on top. Although I picked up on the intricacies behind this song, there’s no denying the indie-pop perfection that lays on top of the many mysterious layers that make this track dazzle. It’s a catchy little number but with heartfelt lyrics that will speak to your soul whether you find them relatable or not. From moments in this track that will make you want to boogie (even if it’s just slightly) to moments where you just want to close your eyes and escape this super strange world that we all live in, “Delay” from Rec Hall is the perfect comfort-song for this manic holiday season.
