Here we are. Another Monday. I’ll be honest, my head isn’t in the game today. I’m tired and am dreading a dentist appointment that I have later today but I won’t let that stop me from trying to get through as much work as I can before the appointment. At the same time, I need some new music to help keep my mind off of what the rest of my day will hold so let’s just jump right in some amazing new tracks starting with “Lifeblood” from Sharper Side.
The punchy song is the perfect blend of modern pop punk and classic hardcore. A song about addiction, “Lifeblood” comes off as raw and highly energetic and is presented with a sense of garage-rock perfection. The recording quality of this track honestly could be a wee bit more polished but I love how it gives this song that feeling of being full of heart and fire which is just what I needed to get my Monday back on track this morning. Sharper Side is a four-piece band from the outskirts of London so I really don’t know when or if I’ll ever get a chance to see them live but, if I ever do get that chance, I have a feeling that their live show will be one for the books. The amount of power and intensity they are able to pack into this three minute and seventeen second song is not lost on me and absolutely begs to be heard live.
