I don’t have a quirky intro for you right now. Honestly, it’s been one of those “head down, get stuff done” kinds of mornings but that isn’t stopping me from checking out some new music at the same time and “Circles” from Wolves on Tape absolutely caught my ear.
Although a super chilly morning in my office, I instantly felt a blast of cozy warmth as soon as “Cricles” took over my speakers and, in turn, my heart. This song starts off soft and sweet and although the nearly four-minute song comes with a slightly dramatic ebb and flow, that coziness never wears off. Wolves on Tape’s sound is very indie pop but it’s far from everything else in that over-saturated genre. I feel like there’s just a bit more heart, a bit more passion, a bit more fire behind everything in this song which is one of the many reasons it stood out to me. Although I definitely caught onto the coziness of this track, I could see this being a bit of a pump-up jam in a way. Sure, it doesn’t have the aggressive feeling of fire that I typically go for but there’s something super energetic about this song that is impossible to ignore. Looking to feel cozy? Looking to get the blood pumping? Either way, Wolves on Tape is your band and “Circles” is your song.
