Okay, I know that the name of this band and the song title is a mouthful but, hear me out here. “An Aberration In Time” from The Malignant Narcissists is not a song to be skipped.
The second single from The Malignant Narcistssists’ new EP is based on The End of the World is Just The Beginning— a book by Peter Zeihan. Although I know nothing about this book or author, I love how you can feel the statement of that book title in this song. “An Aberration In Time” is not a fast song and not an aggressive one but will hit you like a ton of bricks. Lyrically, this isn’t the most uplifting track you’ll hear all day. It’s frankly pretty dark as it talks about how the author in the books predicts that the end of times is coming. At the same time, there’s something almost freeing about this song. From the thick bassline to the powerful drums, distorted guitars, and super strong vocals, I promise that this track is one that will catch you. It really doesn’t matter if you understand why because, honestly, this song is a bit out of left field for me but that doesn’t change anything. Sometimes you hear a song and it just catches you and that’s exactly what happened to me with this song.
