It’s a perfectly gloomy Thursday morning up here in the Twin Cities, and I am here for it. Although I’m stuck at my day job, I feel warm and cozy and am looking for the perfect soundtrack to match it. Although “Living Underground” from Aérostat Palace isn’t the super calming vibe I thought I was looking for, this song hit me like a truck and instantly gave me a burst of energy that my day had been missing.
“Living Underground” feels like, well, a living underground. What does that mean? The vibe has a bit of everything that you would expect from an underground scene. It has a little retro grit mixed with a punk edge, all wrapped up in an energy that begs to be seen live. It’s the kind of song that instantly brings a smile to your face and will have you pushing yourself away from your desk, getting up, and just dancing for a minute, even if that means that your co-workers stare on with judgment. Let them judge. “Living Underground” is such a fun and infectious song; it deserves to be shouted from the rooftops and danced to.
