Girl at the Rock Shows

I got nothing for you right now. It’s Tuesday. It’s been a fairly busy day at my day job and an even busier day with all of my other jobs, but I’m keeping my head above water somehow (knock on wood) and still finding time to check out some new music. I fear that dwelling on a super fun and quirky intro may make me lose steam or make my day take a turn, so let’s just jump right into the next single of the day, “I Wanna Know” from Secret Menu.

The beginning of this song speaks for itself. It’s the tone, it’s the rhythm, it’s the pattern of the guitar that draws you in and it’s the vocals that come in after a short intro that shoot this song off and instantly get it stuck in your head. This song has an almost 90s vibe with a bit of a nod to something reminiscent of Red Hot Chili Peppers, but as the song moves on, you realize that this track is so much more than that. Slightly aggressive and sharp-tongued rap parts are highlighted by an almost metal kind of feeling. Although this song never gets super extreme or anything like that, it keeps you on your toes as Secret Menu moves you through a, well, Secret Menu of trails and paths. You never quite know where this song is going to go when you listen to it for the first time but, when the journey is done, you will surely want to go on it again, and again, and again.
