There was a time where I felt like every song featured Kellin Quinn from Sleeping With Sirens. I was honestly so sick of it but then it stopped. Fast forward to last weekend and being at So What?! Music Festival in Dallas, Texas and who happens to be performing but Sleeping With Sirens. It made me realize how much I missed hearing Kellin’s distinct vocals so it felt like it was only fate that “Aphrodite” by The Foxtails featuring the one and only Kellin Quinn is the next song for me to share with you!
“Aphrodite” instantly drifts you away in the best way and to the best place possible. A song about a trip to France and a budding romance, you get a sense of whimsy and optimism throughout this song which is something I think we could all use a little more of. The song is in the vein of many pop-punk greats to come before The Foxtails including (but not limited to) Paramore, Blink 182, and The Wonder Years but it comes with the playfulness of HelloGoodbye. It’s an upbeat song with a story to tell and, instead of an angsty vibe, this song truly just gives you all of the happy-fuzzies so turn it up loud and let your heart grow a little bit with every passing note.
