Happy Saturday, everyone! What do you all have planned?! I am planning on working for most of the day and then I’m heading out to the Rob Zombie show tonight. What this means is it’s going to be a good day and regardless of how stressful work gets, I’m not going to let it get me down so I need a good soundtrack to go with this mood and “The Future” from The Carousers is hitting the spot right now.
“The Future” has everything I love in it. Catchy hooks, punk-drenched vocals, and an undeniable sense of heart. The Carousers is a trio from New Jersey that seems to have the same influences that plague my daily playlist. With clear nods to everything from The Flatliners to The Dirty Nil, “The Future” comes off as a down and dirty bop with an almost old-soul beat to it. At only two minutes and eighteen seconds long, this is a quick listen but The Carousers are good at really pulling you into their world through this short song. I know I have a lot to do but I am so hooked on their distinct sound that I think I may need to push work off for a wee bit so I can go down the rabbit hole that is this band.
