Girl at the Rock Shows

I dislike the word “Unlovable”. I feel like it’s one that I used to tell myself for years and it got me in a really dark spot. Things have changed in my mind and I realized that not only am I not “Unlovable”, nobody is “Unlovable”. That being said, this is still a word that comes up in life and I feel like it has always has a negative connotation attached to it for me… until I heard “Unlovable” from Beach Weather.

Although it’s a cloudy day up here in Minneapolis, the sun felt like it started to shine as soon as I pushed play on this single. It’s more than a single– it’s a vibe. With a sunny California lo-fi background mixed with more pop-punk drenched angsty vocals, the blend of styles throughout this song is as intriguing as it is amazing. This song gave me a sense of energy that I really needed this morning but it also gave me a second to just get lost in an atmosphere of sound in a perfect way. Again, the balance and blend that Beach Weather has pulled off in “Unlovable” is just absolutely stunning.

Even though I still don’t like the word “Unlovable”, I’ll allow it back into my vocabulary when it comes to this genius track.
