It was love at first listen when I checked out Vulgar Commons’ album ‘Nicotine Fingers’ (you can read the review HERE!) so I was beyond excited when I saw their name hit my email again. This time their music is coming in the form of “Capital”- a song that came out just two months ago.

Within the first few seconds of this song, it became clear that Vulgar Commons is up to their usual game but, like a fine wine, have been aging well. It’s a song about having no money and feeling like, because of that, you are worthless. I feel like that’s something we can all relate to and it seemed to hit a bit harder for me today as I checked my bank accounts. Even though that’s the basis of the song, I somehow got a message of hope through the lyrics and alternative rock styled instrumentation. It was as if Vulgar Commons was reminding me that, although I feel discouraged right now, this too shall pass and I am not alone.

Maybe you don’t want to get that deep with this track and that’s fine. Regardless, “Capital” has a groove that, like Vulgar Commons in general, is so easy to fall in love with so take a listen and show this Chicago-based act some love!
