I’ve been in a bit of a pop-punk mood lately but I’m not super comfortable in that world right now so it’s time to dive into some other moods and see if they fit a bit better. Let’s try to go just ever so slightly more emo and just a wee bit darker with “Jaded” from Dead Wrong.
When I say this song is slightly more emo than what I’ve been jamming today, I mean it. Don’t get me wrong, “Jaded” still has an infectious energy to it but every word is drenched with an undeniable sense of angst and emotion. The song is about what happens during an relationship-ending situation. I feel like this could be with a friend or a significant other which makes the song so easy to relate to on so many levels. “Jaded” is perfectly recorded and composed but it truly is that emotion that comes through in this song that makes this a stand-out jam that is more than worth your attention.
