This week has been going far too smoothly. I should have known that something would happen and, bingo, I am not getting absolutely slaughtered at my day job meaning I have little time to do this blog or work on my other companies. I know it’s the nature of the beast when you’re a workaholic but I’m going through it today. That being said, I will not let it get to me. Not this close to the weekend and not with a bucketlist concert in just a couple of hours. I need to just take a couple of minutes and breathe through this and I can’t thank Impressionist and their new song “Yearn” enough for giving me those few minutes.

This song is strong and powerful. The vocals are somehow very aggressive and in your face while also having an almost comforting quality to them. Okay, maybe you won’t get that but, if you’re like me and find a sense of solace in heavy music, this will be your new favorite track and Impressionist will be your new favorite band. Think La Dispute meets Counterparts with a little The Bled influence seeping through here and there. I could honestly probably list a million other bands that I heard throughout this three and a half minute long song but, really, “Yearn” is just a song that you have to hear for yourself. When listening to it, don’t just listen to this song. Feel every note from Impressionist seep into your soul. I promise it will turn your day around if, like me, you are having a rough go at things right now.
