Happy Monday, everyone! I hope you all had a good and refreshing weekend. I sure did and am ready to take this week by storm. I don’t typically feel like this on Mondays especially after being out as late as I was on Sunday night for my show of choice but a bunch of new music is breathing life into me including “OKAY, BYE” from Bad Friends With Black Cats.

There’s something so sweet and innocent about “OKAY, BYE” but also something so bitterly heartbreaking and honest. All of these things along with the more acoustic-based style of this track make me want to relate this song to bands like Modern Baseball and The Front Bottoms but, really, this song is clearly that of Bad Friends With Black Cats. This song has a catchy jangle about it that will either make you smile or get lost in your deepest and darkest feelings depending on how your day is going. I love that about this track. I also really love the relatable lyrics that come with this song. This Canadian folk-punk duo has a commitment to their DIY spirit which comes through in this song loud and clear. “OKAY, BYE” is part of the group’s EP ‘I WANT TO MOVE’ so, if you like this track, I highly suggest you check out the entire EP.
