Girl at the Rock Shows

I woke up thinking today was going to be a good day. I got to work, got all caught up, and started working. I was feeling great and then, bang, a giant project got dropped on my desk. Although I’m determined to keep on doing my own thing and get all of the things done, I’m stressed, a bit manic, and so very frustrated. You know what that means- it’s time to take a breather and check out a new track.

“The Power” from Pretty Sure is full of just that– Power. Although it starts off feeling a bit hollow, you get the full force of this band within about fifteen seconds and it’s breath taking. I’ll be honest, the recording quality could use a bit more back end but, if you can get past that and recognize this song for the magic and musicianship that it is, you will surely fall head over heels. “The Power” is a pop-punk jam with 90’s leaning alternative tendencies and a youthful jangle behind it all. I love the rawness of it and although I know I said it was a bit rough, I feel like it adds to the sorcery that is Pretty Sure.
