Girl at the Rock Shows

My manager is out today which means it’s smooth sailing at the office– at least for now. Obviously, I don’t want to jinx anything but I’m getting so much done and am feeling good about the day which means it’s time to kick off a marathon of amazing singles to share with you. Okay, like most days, it probably won’t turn into a marathon because, eventually, work will catch up with me but, for now, let’s sit back and get the day started off right with some new music.

Poway, California-based Agent 51 has such a great sound if you’re like me and love bands like Rancid and The Suicide Machines. Their song “Going For the Vault” instantly reminded me of old school Rancid when the song starts off but, as the quick bop plays on, you get a bit of a The Mighty Might Bosstones / Transplants influence that just enhances the overall punk vibe of the song. This track exudes sunshine and California vibes which, for a slightly overcast day in Minneapolis, is just what I needed. Agent 51 doesn’t over think this track. I love how carefree it feels and how there are breaks in the track where breaks make sense, and endless energy at other points where it fits so perfectly. Long story short, Agent 51 is my new obsession and I think that after just one listen to “Going For the Vault”, they will be your new obsession too!
